What Does the Resurrection Mean?
The resurrection is the one event that changed history - all of history. This one event brought God to people in a new way. In one real sense it ushered in God's reign and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Most of all, the Resurrection provided the evidence for the forgiveness of sins and gave man the ability to experience resurrection life.

In a Little While
What do you ask God for when you pray? When Jesus told his disciples that the Father would grant them “anything†that they asked, he was speaking within the context of praying for wisdom and understanding concerning his coming crucifixion. Resist the temptation of praying for earthly, material things and instead pray for God’s spiritual wisdom. Pray that you grasp the importance of his death on the cross for you and how that event impacts your life today. He promises that this will bring you joy that no one can ever take away!

Disciples and Priests
Similar to Paul’s analogy of the church being a body with many members and Christ being the head, Peter describes the church as a spiritual house made of living stones with Christ as the foundation-cornerstone. More specifically, he refers to believers as a holy and royal priesthood. Christ’s death on the cross eliminates the distinction between priests and laypersons. This teaching, often referred to as the priesthood of all believers, does away with the dichotomy of clergy and laity. Ministry is shared among many members—not monopolized by a few paid professionals. A believer is a follower or a disciple who is now welcomed into priesthood!

Come and You Will See
We tend to feel like we have to have all of our questions and baggage out of the way before we can come to Jesus. This passage shows us that we can bring our real selves with all of our questions and baggage and "come and see."

The Advantage of the Holy Spirit
Jesus told the Disciples that he was going away, and that this would be better for them, because His Father would send the Holy Spirit to them. He said it was to our advantage for Him to go away. He comes to be our helper. He speaks what He hears the Father say. He brings the Word of God to us. He helps us do what we’re called to do. He is our helper, our teacher, our guide, our strength. Jesus said that He would do 4 things for us: 1. Lead us into all truth, 2. Teach us all things, 3. Show us things to come, 4. Bring all things to our remembrance.
