Sermons About Disciples
Being About the Heart of Jesus
The final prayer of Jesus in John 17 is a window into the heart of God's Son. It should therefore be the very thing which drives the church forward as God answers that prayer anew in every generation.

The First Shall Be Last
The disciples were full questions about the Kingdom and what they would receive having given all to follow Jesus. Jesus in his wisdom challenged their thinking in human terms. God has been and will continue to be accused of being "unfair" when in reality He is generous to everyone in the purist way. Kevin, will break down the proverb "The first will be last and the last will be first" as Jesus tells a story that puts us all on equal ground.

Do You Not Yet Understand?
As the first half of Mark's Gospel comes to a close, Mark gives us an opportunity to evaluate our relationship to Jesus. In this final scene, we see Jesus once again act with compassion on the crowd, once again battle with the Pharisees, and once again challenge his disciples. As we evaluate the reasons that Jesus deals differently with each group, we will get an honest glimpse into our own heart-level relationship with Jesus.

The Betrayal of Jesus (Mark 14:43 - 15:15)
We see in this passage a sharp contrast between Jesus and everyone else -- Judas, the disciples, the Sanhedrin, and Pilate. The fear and sin of others are on full display, but Jesus's glory and his confident trust in his Father are also clear. Jesus's suffering is the answer for the disciples' sin, and our own.

The Heart of Indifference
The last week of Jesus' life on earth was one filled with tension and activity. On Thursday night, Jesus led His disciples into an upper room and instituted the Lord's Supper. Soon after, they traveled into the garden called Gethsemane. Here Jesus took His closest disciples deeper into the garden with Him. Jesus then revealed His heart to them and asked them to "watch and pray" with Him. Unfortunately, all three of them fell asleep.

Soul Prosperity
We need to live in God’s righteousness, peace and joy on the inside all the time, not just cry out to God for it when we are in a crisis. Our soul is prospering when we are walking in step with Holy Spirit.
