Sermons About Discipleship
The Habit of Selfless Service
In the gospel of John, Jesus taught his disciples that the habit of selfless service was the real mark of being one of his disciples. We can bear this mark of discipleship. We can grow in the habit of selfless service and throw off our selfish tendencies to become more like Jesus.

Unstoppable Partners
Everyone has a part to play in the mission of Christ. When the church partners together as disciples, God is glorified and people are reached with a message of hope. We are commanded to go on an unstoppable mission: to go and make disciples, knowing that we are empowered by Christ.

Jesus And The Call To Discipleship
When Jesus called people to follow him he spoke very clearly about what that means. In Luke 9:23 He said, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me". This is Jesus' call to discipleship. Where did we ever get the idea that it is okay for some people to call themselves Christians and yet not obey this call to follow Christ as a disciple? One of the most common questions people wrestle with is this: “What should I do with my life?“ Jesus actually gives us the answer with just two words: follow me.

The Habit of Graceful Giving
In the book of 2 Corinthians the Apostle Paul told the Christians of Corinth that he wanted them to grow and excel in the “grace of giving.” He wanted them to grow in there practice, their discipline, their habit of graceful giving. We can grow in the habit of graceful giving. It is one of the habits that helps us to grow up in our salvation becoming more like the greatest giver of all, Jesus Christ.

Consider whether there should be a difference between "a Christian" and "a disciple". Look at 4 pictures for being a disciple - the apprentice, the athlete, the member of a community and the fisherman.
