Sermons about Divine Call
Who of us, when gathered in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings think about the problems of life instead of focusing on God and what He has in store for each of us this morning. Who of us is engaged in His ministry and who is here to check of a list? When Moses saw the burning bush he put everything aside and he went toward that bush to see what was going on. God had his attention! Do we understand this morning the seriousness of who is speaking to us? Does God have our undivided attention?
As God got Moses' attention with the burning bush, He also has our attention with the cross of Jesus Christ. The cross is talked about every day. God revealed Himself thru the cross, just as He revealed Himself to Mozes thru the burning bush. Many of us are not willing to investigate what God has in store for our lives. Often we are not even in His presence, as life (sports, TV, concerts) are more important then spending time with His people in His house.
Why is God mindful of His creation? Why would God speak to you and me today? Why did God in flesh suffer and die for us? It is to bring us to Him for His glory. To bring us to repent from our sins, so we glorify Him.
What is faith? It is a radical trust and loyalty to God. It can't be know if it is not revealed to you. Faith can't come from self or from the world. It can only come from God, because He made it known. Without faith we can't imagine the things we have faith for. Faith is a response from God revealing Himself to us. It is a divine gift of grace and our response to it.
Why do we gather this morning in a sanctuary? Because you are saved? You see it as an obligation? You are curious about God's Word? Or you have no idea why, but something told you to go. One thing is certain; we are gathered to worship God. He called all of us here together, no matter what our background is, to share His vision (Word) with all of us.
We are more than conquerors in our faith that Jesus Christ is alive. The result of your salvation; your trust in Him, is that you love Him, thus you obey Him. As a result of this your mind is set on the Holy Spirit and not on the world. Ask yourself these questions: 1) Do you speak Jesus Christ? 2) Do you belong to Jesus Christ?
