Who is Your Father?
As we open again to the gospel of John, chapter 8, we see the pride that the Jewish people had in their ancestry. When confronted about their sin and need for a Savior, they continually fell back on the idea that they were “children of Abraham.” The confrontation we find between Jesus and the unbelieving Jewish religious leaders reached this point of hostility back in John 5, when Jesus had the audacity to heal a lame man, crippled for 38 years, on the Sabbath.

The Pathway to Freedom
As Christians, we don’t believe truth is relative. Neither do we believe truth is a set of facts or principles. We don’t believe it’s an abstract idea. No, we believe truth is more than facts, more than principles. Truth is a personified in the very character of God: He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. Deuteronomy 32:4 (KJV)

Return to the Cross
The Bible is God’s written revelation to man. It is the Scriptures. And if this is true, it is life and death. For those who dabble but don’t believe, Jesus won’t be here forever. There will be a day when it’s too late. When you’re face to face with Jesus and instead of beholding Him as your Savior, you’ll be looking into the eyes of your Judge. And you won’t be able to go where Jesus is.

Are You Following the Light-Part Two
Nobody likes stumbling lost in the darkness. And yet that is where the nation of Israel was when Jesus boldly declared himself to be the Light of the World in John 8:12-20. But Jesus wasn’t just declaring the nation as a whole to be in darkness. He was declaring the entire world to be in darkness. The truth is that today most people live in darkness. They live life confused and afraid and don’t really know where to turn. They stumble around and have no idea where they are going. Our world is just filled with a darkness and oppression that is so thick. But Jesus Christ offers himself as the Light of the World.

Are You Following the Light-Part One
Revival begins with a personal self-examination. Revival means you and I fall on our knees and embrace God and ask him to call us to obedience to Him. So it is with this spirit, we look afresh at the passage of Scripture before us. A powerful passage that begins with a fresh statement of who Jesus is.

Stones of Grace
We often hear the phrase, “He that is without sin cast the first stone.” Another way of saying this is “He who lives in a glass house shouldn’t throw rocks.” Almost everyone knows that saying. Even people who’ve never read the Bible. It’s usually used as a defense against a particularly sinful lifestyle. I think we’d all agree its been used and abused. But it is a saying that is in the Bible. Or is it?
