Seed of the Serpent Versus Seed of the Promise -- Genesis 4:1-26
Often we can wonder if what God has promised will actually happen. That is nothing new. In Genesis 4 we see the promise of God seemingly threatened, but not defeated.

Back to Good: Trust and Doubt

Get Up
Fourth in a four part series about why things are the way they are and what we can do to make things right again. With everything that is going on in this world, it can seem hopeless to consider that we, as fragile, broken people could ever make a real difference. How can I even think about helping someone else (much less the world) when I am so screwed up myself. Finding hope on the edge will take us through a look at God’s original plan, where we find ourselves now, His plan to restore humankind for a better purpose and then release us to make a difference in this world.

Transform...with Power
Another obstacle that prevents people from experiencing the transforming power of God is doubt. Doubting God is a complex issue. It is complex because there are so many layers to that doubt. Is it doubt in God? His Son? Or does it really come down to doubting His power? This week we will catch a glimpse of God’s awesome power which should bring us face to face with the reality of who He is and what He is willing to do in our lives.

NBF 10th Anniversary Revival 4 - Jesus Said "Be Not Afraid!"
Be Not Afraid Peter was afraid to step out of the boat with the high seas and the wind blowing. The perfect Love of God cast out all fear! When Peter touched Jesus’ hand he was raised out of the water. 22: And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. 23: And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. 24: But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25: And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26: And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27: But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28: And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29: And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30: But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31: And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? 32: And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. 33: Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Would I have Found Him?
Would I have Found Him? We still look for Him, and wonder at His ways as we try and come to terms with His ability to hide His profoundness in plain sight. How could anyone know that they were to follow a star to find a King? The quest of the wise men and their subsequent success offers reassurance to us that even the most unexplainable and difficult ways of God can be discovered and followed. 1. Recognizing His directives. 2. Setting priorities to realize the goal. 3. Dealing with doubt. 4. Retaining strength for the quest.
