Sermons About Easter
An Easter Encounter
The story of the encounter of Jesus Christ with two travelers on the Emmaus road is not just another story of an appearance of Jesus Christ after He rose from the dead. Rather, it is a real life story pointing to how the risen Lord Jesus Christ continues to encounter people traveling along life’s highway.

I Have Overcome the World
Friends, I don't know what sort of attitude you came in here with. But it is my prayer that you leave with a big dose of Easter attitude - a big dose of reverent defiance, peace and courage, reverence and defiance, in the face of whatever life has brought or will bring your way. "In this world we will have trouble," Jesus says. "But take heart! I have overcome the world."

The Tree and Its Leaves
If only... If only another International Summit could fix things. If only a signed nuclear arms treaty could ensure peace. If only someone could solve the crisis in the Middle East. If only someone could really fix the environment. If only someone could end the oppression that takes place all over the world. If only someone could stop the world’s incessant warring. If only someone could heal the national and ethnic divides that simmer just underneath the surface. If only some international body could truly bring every nation together. If only free trade could solve things. If only some charismatic leader could do it. If only, if only, if only. It seems like the troubles of this world are mounting, and yet even our best efforts cannot effect the deep healing that needs to take place. So is there any hope for our world? The Bible says there is. The Bible ends with a message of warning and a message of hope. The message of warning involves a choice. The message of hope involves a river, a throne and a tree. Since January, our church has been on a unique journey. Over 600 of us have made a commitment to read the entire Bible from cover to cover in 90 days. This week many of us come to the end of our reading. We entered Holy Week reading the last book of the Bible -Revelation. Today in the Word we will consider our resurrection hope and the healing of the nations
