Get Your Hopes Up!
In the apostle Peter’s first epistle he told his recipients that they had been given new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Christ from the dead. He told them that placing their faith in Christ’s resurrection gave them this hope. We can have this kind of living hope!

What Jesus said about His death, burial and resurrection
We have a tendency to only really listen to those things that really matter to us! I’m sure if we looked hard enough we could find that the Disciples had a problem with all three of the listening skills. What are they? Attitude, attention, and adjustment. Some go so far to say that we only actually ‘hear’ 25% of what someone says. We do this for various reasons. One of them, (I believe) was the Disciple’s key issue, “Adjustment” or what I like to call “Filtered Listening.”

Jesus And His Resurrection
The message of Easter is that something profound happened in human history, something that is so dramatic and important that the implications affect all of our lives. God exists and he came to earth and became one of us for our redemption. In Jesus Christ God was incarnate, he became one of us, lived a perfect life, then died on the cross to pay for our sins. Then as Christians throughout the centuries have confessed in the Apostles' Creed: “On the third day He rose again from the dead.”

The Cross that Conquers You: Just a Reminder
Easter is a story of authority. Of your good King Jesus conquering all your obstacles and all your enemies to free you from your past, bring joy to your present and give hope for your future. A group of Sadducees ask Jesus an unfair question. They poisoned the well by trapping into an emotional question about the painful loss of a family member. Death is the old story, the story we belonged to before Easter. Now because he lives, we truly live.

The Resurrection Conspiracy
The religious leaders wanted to prevent a conspiracy by the disciples. The religious leaders could not prevent the divine conspiracy. Man’s conspiracy was to cover up Christ’s resurrection.
