There Must Be Something Better
First in a four part series about why things are the way they are and what we can do to make things right again. With everything that is going on in this world, it can seem hopeless to consider that we, as fragile, broken people could ever make a real difference. How can I even think about helping someone else (much less the world) when I am so screwed up myself. Finding hope on the edge will take us through a look at God’s original plan, where we find ourselves now, His plan to restore humankind for a better purpose and then release us to make a difference in this world.

Your Relationship With God Starts Here
Part 1 in a 5 part Christmas series: A Place to Start. In many ways, Christmas, like life, is what we choose to make it. The choices about who we trust (or not) determine the outcomes of it. The Christmas story is the message of Christianity: God loves us so much that He sent His Son into the world to save whoever chooses to trust in Christ, & thereby start over.

Mere Christianity
Part 5. The conclusion of this series, based on big ideas from CS Lewis’ book of the same name, deals with questions about the epic nature of God and his involvement in our lives. What difference does God’s three-in-oneness make to our lives and faith? Why should we believe Jesus’ claim that he was God? Why "the incarnation?" And what about Christ’s death on the cross? Faith in the true God makes our lives integral to his epic story.

Part 2. How the true nature of God is tied to everything we believe and how we see and experience God in everyday life. What difference does God’s three-in-oneness make to our lives and faith? Why should we believe Jesus’ claim that he was God? Why "the incarnation?" And what about Christ’s death on the cross? Faith in the true God makes our lives integral to his epic story.

Rumors of God
Part 1. What is the nature of God, and why is that important? This series, based on big ideas from CS Lewis’ book of the same name, will deal with questions about the epic nature of God and his involvement in our lives. What difference does God’s three-in-oneness make to our lives and faith? Why should we believe Jesus’ claim that he was God? Why "the incarnation?" And what about Christ’s death on the cross? Faith is not about moving God to embrace our agendas. It is about being moved to embrace his. The rub in all of this is that it makes God big and us small. We aren’t going to be able to get our way all the time. And we don’t take no for an answer very well…especially in America. So there are lots of preachers and cultural leaders who bring a different message. At the core is this promise: You can be like God. You can control your destiny. The problem is, that’s not true…that’s why it breaks down…and that belief is the source of a majority of the pain people of faith experience. The reality of what Jesus wants to do if we’ll trust him is far more fulfilling and comforting at the same time.

God's Good All Ways
Our greatest weaknesses are God’s greatest opportunities… if we will trust him. The points of our greatest weaknesses are the points where God has his greatest opportunities to demonstrate his power…if we will demonstrate faith. We all have a tendency to measure God’s goodness, mercy, and interest in our lives according to what we see, feel, and experience. But it takes more faith to endure a no from God than to acquire a yes.

I Promise
Faith is believing that God will do what he promised. Walking by faith is living as if God will do what he promised. The thing that generates and, at the same time, is the motivating force of such a lifestyle is hope.
