The Church - Local and Global
Many people think of a church as a building, but throughout the Bible "church" is used to describe assemblies or gatherings of God's people. The Greek term "ekklesia" literally means gathered, called. These groupings are known as the visible church, but Hebrews describes a future church comprising all of God's people that were, are or will be. This church is invisible to us now, but will be our eternal destiny as we praise Him forever with His angels. As we make 'church' today, how much do we long for the eternal church, how much do we want our church to be like that future eternal church?
