Sacred Joy: Philippians 2.1-4
Last week in Philippians, Paul began his plea for unity in his letter to the church at Philippi. He called for them with one spirit and one mind to strive together for the faith of the gospel. He continues this week with this central plea, longing for them to be of the same mind. This week we will see Paul explain this unity. We will see the why, what and how of unity. Unity is a work of God and the church needs this great work.

A Call to Arms
Continuing the ending theme of Acts 14, we take a look at the conditions of our present culture, and label it almost post-Christian. In the face of increasing antagonism and opposition to the presence and influence of the kingdom of God in our world, how do we respond? Are we living in what could be defined as the Great Tribulation and if so how do we survive? Some lessons from Nehemiah help us to prepare to endure a most difficult time in our history.

Just Walk Across the Room (part 3)
This Sunday begins week three of our four week “Walk Across The Room” journey. It has been an amazing journey, so many of you have shared with me the incredible stories of what it has meant for you to respond to the nudging of the Holy Spirit and leave your comfort circle, step out in faith, walk across a room and begin to develop a profound relationship with someone who needs to know that God created them, loves them and has an awesome purpose for their life. What a blessing it has been to hear your stories. This Sunday we will address the following consideration, “are there right words to use when sharing God’s story? Is there a right way to tell our personal faith story?”

An Invitation To Miracles
Jeremiah lived in tough times. His people had been taken captive. His message was totally rejected. He was incarcerated in the court of the prison at Jerusalem. Still Encouragement for God’s servant. A good word for the weeping prophet. Having reminded His beleaguered prophet of His mighty presence in V.2, God invites him to a life of miracles He invites Jeremiah to call on Him and He would answer. Moreover, in so doing, He would show him great and mighty things which he heretofore did not understand. FRIENDS – Although this promise was made to Jeremiah in his time of distress, the promise remains for God’s people to this day. In Christ, we can call upon God and He will answer and show us miraculous things, including things which we have not before understood. • At hand is one of the greatest promises in God’s Word to His people through the ages. IT IS PRAYER THAT BRINGS MIRACLES INTO OUR LIVES!

Mission to Corinth: I have many people in this city
As the gospel enters difficult places there is always a collision of values, and there is usually fruit. That was true in each strategic city Paul entered on his second missionary journey (Philippi, Athens, Corinth and Ephesus). Corinth was one of the most difficult places Paul had ever been. After a short time of ministry there he was overwhelmed and almost ready to give up. He had never encountered anything so difficult. Yet in the midst of his difficulty, God gave him encouragement to keep going, just as He does for us today.

Discouragement
When things are going well, it is easy to maintain a positive attitude and a can do spirit. However, when reversals come our positive outlook may wither and be replaced with discouragement. The unfortunate thing is that it is very hard to help ourselves once we get caught in its grasp because we lose perspective. Where is hope to be found? 1Kings 18; 1Kings 19; Heb 10:23-25
