Image is Everything: Living Out Your Identity (Ephesians 4:7-16)
Image is Everything. Those words describe so much of how we live our lives. We all care deeply about what other people think about us. From our clothes, to our hair, our house, the way our kids dress and behave, how much money we make. Deep down we wonder if we stack up, if we have what it takes. In business, we wonder if we can climb to the top, make more money than everyone else, to be the best. With our bodies, we push and push to be skinnier, wear the latest clothes, have the trendy haircut. All for others to be jealous of us. With our kids, we push them to live out the dreams we failed to reach, to climb to the top of their class, all to have the life we never had. In the end, we end up as lost as when we started. Many of us spend our whole lives trying to figure out who we are. Or, trying to be someone else. Whether we put up a fascade of a life on Facebook, pretend our marriage is better than it really is, act like we aren't as hurt or as lonely as we really are. What if there was a truth that changed everything about how we saw ourselves? What if, the way God saw us changed everything? Big Idea: We all play a part at Revolution Church; everyone has a place on the team and is needed to accomplish the mission God has called us to. Redemption: Redeeming Church Life
Redemption in your church life means you're gifted and useful in Christ because Christ has gifted you and can use you.
Husbands LOVE Your Wives
Ephesians 5:25-30 In this passage, love is used five times in order to express the husband's overarching duty in his role as the head of his wife. All Christians have the duty to love, having been first loved by Christ, but the husband has a unique responsibility to be an instrument of sacrificial care to his wife. This passage leaves each husband with the question: "How can I love my wife as Christ does, so that she becomes more like Him?"
What's Love Got To Do With It? (3of23)
A study of the Book of Revelation exploring the end of the world and the only thing that can save it.
Reversing Marriage
Ephesians 5:22-24 Something happened when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden that forever changed the landscape of marriage. Not only did death enter the picture - spiritual and physical - but the roles within marriage were turned upside down. However, as believers we don't throw up our hands in despair; God calls us to redeem marriage - to restore this union to God's beautiful design.
