In tonights message we look at what it means to be a church on mission. At the heart of it all, we must be a church that is motivate by the gospel to be the people of God for the sake of the world.

Don't Look a Gift Morse in the Mouth
Most churches and many pastor’s for that matter believe that the pastor is the one responsible for building the church. He is the chief servant, missionary, trustee, visitor, etc. This being the case, most pastors resort to the ‘whatever works’ mentality. If my paycheck depends on people coming in and the appearance of numerical growth then I will do whatever it takes. I have been asked to kiss a pig, cut my hair off, and preach from the roof of the building. I know of churches that give away cars, offer week-long vacations, cash prizes, and various other enticements in order to ‘build’ the numbers in the church. That is not what we see here.
