Sermons About Essentials
The Cross And Christian Essentials
For Christians the cross is central. It's written somewhere that after a famous Chinese Christian leader died in prison this note was found under his bed: “Christ is the Son of God. He died to atone for men's sin, and after three days rose again. This is the most important fact in the universe. I die believing in Christ.” When we talk about the cross of Christ, that is what we mean, something real that happened in history: God in human flesh, Jesus, dying for our sins and rising again from the dead. Now of course, the cross is not only an important fact of history, it is also something that affects all of us today. That's what we see in Hebrews chapter 10. This passage shows us the relationship between the cross and what you might call four Christian essentials.

Philosophy
The Ridge Church lives to glorify God – loving Jesus, loving people and seeing lives transformed to live for Jesus. We have been called to live this out globally and locally (the mission) and we have essential beliefs as we move down the highway of life, that we hold dear to, so we do not get off focus and fall away. To help us stay focused and on mission we must have a system of values and principles by which we live and function by as a church, a philosophy - in ministry it is important to have the right mindset and attitude toward how things should be done.

Clear Direction for Unclear Issues - Pt. 5 - Essentials and Non-Essentials
When it comes to gray areas in the Bible, how are we to respond? Sometimes Scripture leaves room for disagreement, but never disunity. Seth Saldivar helps us discover how we are to handle differences of opinion on non-essential issues in a way that honors God and one another.

Essentials Part 2
The gospel and truth is under continual attack by Satan who sends out false teachers, false shepherds, false apostles and false prophets to wage war against the church, God’s people. There is a battle for truth and much is at stake – God’s glory and the eternal destiny for all. Join us as we are encouraged by Paul (1 Timothy 6.3-21) to fight the good fight of faith. We will also speak to the essentials of the church. These are the things that we will have a close hand on as we have an open hand to the culture around us.

Christ & Your Life
When it comes to your life there are a lot of things that are important, but what's most essential? In this passage of scripture Jesus is with his disciples on the way to the garden of Gethsemane to pray, and then be arrested and taken to the cross. It is in this setting that we might expect Jesus to stress what is most important. So what does he do? He talks about their relationship to him. He used the image of a vine and its branches in order to illustrate what's most essential for his disciples and for us. In John 15:5 He said: I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
