Sermons About Evangelism
An Example of Evangelism
Luke 18:18-30 Have you ever noticed that there are many people who profess to be Christians but whose daily lives do not reflect the characteristics of Christ, nor show the evidences of saving faith? These are Christians in name only. They know nothing of what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ - the one true Savior. It is the Lord's desire that we who are already followers share the good news of His saving work with those who need to hear it. This principle of reaching the lost is commonly referred to as evangelism. The story of the rich young ruler is a great lesson in evangelism and challenges not only those who profess to be Christians but do not follow Jesus Christ, but also those who are already followers because it takes them back to a time in their lives before they were saved by God's grace. This man apparently had everything the world had to offer, but was still missing something significant. His life was filled with worldly things, but his life was nevertheless empty. From Jesus's own words to the young man, we learn about the four things that an unsaved person needs to understand about their standing with God and what God requires of us in order that we may inherit eternal life. One needs to: 1. Understand Who God Is (v. 18) 2. Admit That You Have Sinned (v. 20) 3. Be Willing To Give Up Your Sin (Repent) (v. 22) 4. Commit Your Life To Follow Jesus Christ (v. 23) Those who evangelize are also reminded of four equally important things that must be explained to the lost so that God's message of salvation can be accurately understood. One should preach: 1. The Character of God 2. The Law of God 3. Repentance Toward God 4. Faith in God's Son Do you have something in your heart or in your life that is preventing you from following Jesus Christ? The story of the rich young ruler reminds us that total sacrifice is required to qualify us as His followers. For it is Jesus alone Who is the author of salvation!

Seeing With Kingdom Eyes
Pastor Lance Parrott asks us, "What if Christianity is not about the things we do, but rather about the ways in which we see?" We must see Christ as king, holy, and as savior. And when we see Christ in this way it will affect our lives. Listen from 1 Peter and find out how.
