Just as there are two kinds of righteousness - the kind we receive by faith, and the kind we choose to walk in - there are also two different kinds of favor. There is a favor of God bestowed upon all who believe, but there is a "special favor" reserved for people who press in to know God more.
The Bible makes it clear. Jesus cares for prisoners. While he would not empty the world's jails, he cares about those whose life choices have imprisoned them. Many of these are not in physical prisons, but are held captive by their own sense of guilt--feeling sure that God will never receive them. The truth is, he will receive them and the Bible offers this proof: The SAME Jesus who lived 2000 years ago is the one to whom we will all answer. From the command to let our light shine, follows the question, "How?" The next thing Jesus discusses is that of broken relationships and how our light shines by reconciliation to civil opponent at law we have offended. SERIES: We are commissioned to make disciples by "teaching them to obey all [Jesus] commanded." What are those commands? Love, of course would be supreme but what are the "all?" (Teaching them to obey ALL I'VE COMMANDED YOU)
