"What not to say when you encounter suffering" - Job 4.7-6.14
The question is - how can I help those in my life when they are suffering? In this section of Job we look at what not to say - how not to act, and where not to go when you encounter suffering. And we won't leave you there, we also will look at ways in which you can help those in need - biblical ways to point them to God and stand with them in the midst of trying times,
Why We Don't Follow
Just as the Prodigal Son refused to listen to his father and marched off to the pig pen, so we too often fail to listen to God. One of the reasons for this is a fear that God is going to demand something of us that we don't want to give up. And in fact, there will be things that God calls us to die to. He may even call us to great sacrifice. But, in the main—what God usually asks us to lay down are the things that destroy us. Mt 15:11ff; Gen 2:17ff; Gen 3; 2Kings 17:1-18; Lk 9:23-24; Mt 8:18-22; Isa 48:17-19

Let God deal with your enemies
Lesson Aim: To grow in our understanding of what it means to trust God when forces and circumstances are coming against us.
Freedom
Authentic freedom is found in Jesus. We can find freedom when we fully surrender to God. Jesus wants to set us free from the expectations of others, the poison of bitterness, the fear of death, and the control of sin.
There was a man...
We begin to look at this man named Job - who is he, what does he do, where is he from. We want to know this man of whom God ordained to have a whole book written. Why was he is the position he was - and how does he respond when times are good and bad? Most of all, we begin to look at God, and His part in this great and tragic story.
