Sermons About Fellowship
Sacred Joy: Philippians 1.3-11
As Paul begins his letter to the church at Philippi he reveals his gratitude to God for the church's commitment to the gospel and to Paul's ministry. Their partnership in the gospel gives Paul much joy as he prays for them. He has such joy and affection for the church because they are walking in the truth. What gives you the greatest joy? For Paul it is the work that God is continuing to do in his brothers and sisters in Philippi. No doubt Paul would have much reason to be down and lonely while in prison, but his circumstances do not affect his joy and prayers for these in Philippi. The gospel has such power as it reconciles sinful people not only to God, but to each other. The gospel is what holds Paul and the Philippians together even though they are apart. The gospel must take first place in both our relationships and prayers.

Glory in the Fellowship Part 8
What do you think of when you think of fellowship? The word translated here for fellowship is koinonia. Koinonia is deeper than simply socializing. Koinonia is a deeply felt relationship, a life connection, and a community of people. Koinonia makes life bearable in the tough times and makes life more enjoyable in the good times. I don’t want to live life in a sterilized, selfish box. I want to be part of a community of believers that loves, rejoices and mourns together. Today, we invite you to join us. Life to the Full!

Lose Your Life to the Church and Its Devotion
Do you love the church with the same devotion as Jesus? Would you die for the church? Would you lose your life for the church? Pastor Brian Curtis calls to see a picture of the early church and their devotion and calls us to that same life-giving devotion.

Good leaders follow Christ and mighty men are men of prayer
True leaders follow the will of God. Look at the United States and the economy. Do they follow God? They allow abortion, legalized gambling and God will allow them to be disciplined. We must as leaders follow God. All the men in the Bible who brought peace, happiness and the protection of God were men of prayer. If you are not doing as much or more in study and prayer than before you are backsliding

Why look around to see if your happy to be happy?
Only in a relationship to God can we find joy. It is not religion, though there is only Christianity. It is not doctrine, although that leads to piety. We must wrestle with the deception that God isn't personal. We must fight the lie that God does not want to take care of every need. How do we develop a conversation with God?

Community is...
God commits to make a people for Himself. This is His plan, to redeem a “people,” not just individuals. We’re not saved to be isolated individuals. This church, His people, our community, is what Christ died for and it is what we are saved into. The story of the Bible is the story of God fulfilling His promise to be our God as His people. So how do we do community? We do this by calling you into a messy community life where you “devote” yourself to learning the Gospel in fellowship with one another. This is not clean and tidy, but messy and disorganized at times. It isn’t a program to be attended, a curriculum to be mastered, but instead a life to be lived as the Gospel comes and regularly breathes new life into our wandering hearts.

We must read the Bible as God is speaking directly to us - Communion Part 11
As we grow in Communion with God we must learn to know God truly, this is transformation. We need to know ourselves and how to commune with Our loving creator. The Bible clears the mud so we can hear God. Prayer while we speak to God He speaks to our souls. Fellowship enables us to know Christ truly that only comes from loving and serving. Purity enables us to hear His voice and empowers our transformation

God's Spiritual Gifts teaching us to see Him
1. Learn to think not of self - Think God The people who have changed the world are people who taught people to live in it united to Christ. You must not look at your potentials, goals, and problems in relation to self but in relation to what God can do - everything! God is all capable. He doesn't judge!! God loves you as much as Billy Graham or John the Apostle. But Graham and the Apostles know Him and that requires communion. The heroic journey is denying self in training in the Bible
