Fighting a Good Fight
To fight a good fight, we must commit to strict training. We receive our training from the very words of God. Those of us who are in physical training and spiritual training must keep ourselves pure. We will not be pure until we are mastered by Christ and no longer mastered by our sin. We must take every thought captive for Christ and turn from our sin.If you trust Christ, you will finish your race.

A Prison of Our Own Making
Anger is our body's God given response to perceived threats. God placed it there to alert us to a potential problem and to give us the energy to deal with that problem. The problem is that we sometimes vent our anger on innocent bystanders, or internalize it so that it consumes our thoughts. When this happens, we are in a prison of our own making. There is a way to freedom. Key Passages: Matt 18:15ff, Matt 18:21ff, Eph 4:26

This Is Way Bigger Than Me
Our fight is a daily battle against a strong opponent that sometimes seems overwhelming. In human terms, David should never have been able to defeat Goliath. Everyone, except David, thought that. David's example of faith, trust, preparation, and victory shows us how we can overcome those things that are too big for us to fight alone.

Never Let Go
We see in Genesis 32 that Jacob wrestled with God and refused to let go. He was not fighting to win, but fighting to hold on to his faith in God. We often easily let go of our faith because we are distracted, defeated or desensitized. We let go of our faith so we can continute to hold on to many others things that don't really matter much. Jacob showed us how to fight passionately for our faith and never let go.

Greater Than...
We’re starting a new study in the book of Hebrews and it calls us to the reality of the spiritual conflict that takes place in the heavenly realms and in our daily lives. The challenge to stand firm, to not drift, to not shrink back, is woven through the pages of this great book. It is a call to persevere, a call to dependence, and a call to GREAT FAITH! I’m excited and overwhelmed by the study! I believe God has some power- ful things to teach us as we take a quick 9-week flight over this text! Dig in deep! Key Passage: Hebrews 1:1-2:16
