Generosity (Vision Update and Sermon)
We admit it. We have an agenda: we want you to join the church. All believers in Jesus in every time and place are members of the universal church, but committing to a local church is a vital part of the spiritual life for every Christ-follower. In our teaching series, CHURCH 101, we are taking several weeks to describe the foundational commitments of church membership. Our members are those who have accepted the mission of helping others become passionate followers of Jesus through the ministry and community of this church. Over the next few weeks, we will discuss what that means as we explore practically how we can live for Jesus as a part of His church.

Surrender...Your Money
There are some topics with so much emotion attached to them, so controversial, that many pastors choose to avoid these subjects altogether. One of those topics is money. With the average American home experiencing record personal debt along with declining net worth, some may feel this is not the time to talk about money. So, why bring it up? You might be surprised to know Jesus talked quite a bit about money. Jesus talked about money more than He did Heaven and Hell combined. Jesus talked about money more than anything else except the Kingdom of God. 11 of 39 parables talk about money. 1 of every 7 verses in the Gospel of Luke talk about money. We will look at a the faith of a poor widow who had learned the secret of personal freedom and peace that only comes from a yielded life. Join us this week as we discover the joy and contentment that comes from surrendering every area of our life to God, including Our Money!

Enjoy Your Things, But Don't Make Things Your Joy
Lead Pastor Jeff Lawrence's son, Mike, had an accident while they were vacationing in La Jolla, California. On Sunday morning, October 5th, he fell out a window onto a concrete walkway nearly three stories below. Amazingly, Mike's life was spared, and in time he should see a full recovery. Jeff and family remained with Mike in California while he was recovering. This traumatic experience combined with several weeks in a beautiful place created space for some intense reflection. Jeff will be sharing some of what he's been learning in a new sermon series called "Living in La Jolla: Field Notes from Heaven-on-Earth."
