Sermons About Follow
What Is That To You? You Must Follow Me
Life is a search for a voice we can trust -- a single voice that puts all other voices into quiet perspective, a voice that settles the loudness around us and speaks peacefully yet clearly and confidently. A voice we can follow. (Joseph Stowell, Following Christ, p. 3) Throughout this series of messages on Following Jesus we've been hearing that one voice that claims to be the voice we should follow.

"Can You See?"
One of the hardest questions we can answer honestly is: "What corner of the darkness do we cherish?" Jesus says we love the darkness, but He offers us hope because He offers us Himself. Jesus tells us that He's the Light of the World, and He calls us to believe and follow Him out of our darkness that we love so much and into the freedom, life, and light of the gospel.

Sex And The Sacred Journey
What we need to do is look at sex and the sacred journey. What I mean by the sacred journey is a life in which we follow Jesus. How does sex relate to following Christ? Our sexuality is one of the primary areas of life where we experience the ravages of sin, therefore it is also one of the main issues in life that Jesus came to redeem. What does it mean to follow Jesus in this aspect of life?

Following The Bread From Heaven
What Jesus says in John 6:48 is powerful and poetic. He says, "I am the bread of life". In some ways it doesn't sound very dramatic or impressive. He doesn't say, "I'm the freshest sushi of life" or "I'm the caramel macchiato of life". He says, "I'm the bread of life". That means that he is not a luxury, he is essential.

To Follow Christ We Must Live In Faith
Jesus wanted his followers to live the same way he lived; not to worry but to live in faith as we follow him. One thing that means is that when Jesus talks about our money, it really isn't about the money. It's about something more basic. It's about faith and what it means to follow him. There are three things he tells us in Luke 12: Don't worry about your life, trust in God & be fearless.

Follow The Leader
Leaders. We are obsessed with the question of leadership as we head into an election year. And yet, truth be told, the world of human leadership is poised to let us down. In four to eight years, we will feel about our new leaders the way we feel about our old leaders. In the midst of all the disappointment, Jesus calls us to “follow him.” Today in the Word, we will be thinking about his call in the context of our lives. It is a call that rings true in the church and the world.

Jesus, Your Money, And Yourself
We want to understand what it means to follow Jesus, especially as it relates to our contemporary culture, and one thing we've got to look at is the issue of money. How does following Jesus relate to money and financial issues? If you read through Luke, or any of the gospels, the thing that might surprise you is that Jesus talks about money more than any other single subject.

What Kind of Follower Are You?
Your purpose and meaning in life is in being a follower of Christ. In Luke 14, Jesus makes a distinction between followers that just ‘go along’ and followers that He refers to as “disciples”. Which one are you? Here He offers a test to help you to figure out what kind of follower you are—If you ‘hate’ your family and even yourself, you pass the test! The point He makes is that you be willing to give up the things or people you hold dear to yourself for His sake if you want to be one of His disciples.

Jesus, The Bible, And You
Someone has said: "Life is a search for a voice we can trust - a single voice that puts all other voices into quiet perspective, a voice that settles the loudness around us and speaks peacefully, yet clearly and confidently. A voice we can follow." What the Bible tells us is that in Jesus Christ we have that voice we can follow.

The Call Of The King
Jesus made great promises to people who would follow him. He promised freedom and fulfillment to his followers. The question is, "Are we really following him?" What if there is far more freedom and fulfillment than we have yet experienced? Is it because we have somehow slipped away from the understanding that following Christ is the necessary requirement for the experience of his freedom & fulfillment?

Malachi Giving God your best
It is just as true now as it was in Malachi's time. We are to honor God with our best. We are to honor God with our marriages, and we are to honor God with our money, we are to honor him with our lives because the day of the lord is coming.

Risky Faith
When was the last time you took a risk for Jesus? I mean something that you could’ve totally failed at and made a fool out of yourself? To be honest, it’s probably been a long time when I did something that fit that category. So what is keeping us from taking more risks for Jesus? How can we address our fears and lack of faith in such a way that we become the kind of risk-taking, faith-stretching followers He’s looking for? Today, we will look at a woman in scripture who set aside her fears and embraced her faith in such a way that her life was dramatically changed. And you will be challenged to step out of your comfort zone to experience what risky faith is all about! Key Passage: 2 Kings 4:1-7

God Is More Than Enough
As we follow Jesus, we will experience the fact that God is more than enough. Elijah knew this and demonstrated to Israel that the gods they had chosen to follow were false and powerless. We, too, face a power struggle as we decide who to follow. We need to remember that God has the ability to handle circumstances which seem unmanageable to us.
