Are You Smarter Than God
Sometimes we waste our time trying to reason God's ways and methods. Our greatest wisdom is mere foolishness to God.

Parable Of The House Built On The Sand (Being Lost)
The parable of the foolish man that built his house on the sand is mans doctrine. He is the one that goes in the broad way that leads to destruction. This the the many called. This is Satan's church. They receive their reward now but their house will be revealed by fire. The fire will destroy all the works of Satan and there will be a great fall. When the house falls how great that fall will be. The living water (the truth) will wash it away.

2 Samuel 13 - All in the Family
In this chapter one must deal with the godless depravity of 4 men, especially in the narrative of Amnon's rape of Tamar, his half sister. In Amnon we see lust without love bringing about rape, in Jonadab we see a man of wisdom without principles planning this rape, in David we see anger without justice in failing to punish rape and murder, and in Absolom's we see hatred without restraint in the murder of his half brother, Amnon. David's family is receiving God's punishment of 2 Samuel 12:11 because of his sin in his relationship with Bathsheba and Uriah. From 2 Samuel 13 we see the struggle of godlessness in that it produces double-mindedness because it doubts God's Word, foolishness because it denys greater profit, and humanism because it rejects Christ's Lordship. This chapter is an exhortation that a godly life is of great benefit to one who sanctifies Jesus Christ as Lord.

John 1:43-51 - This is Jesus: The Unlikely King...from Nazareth (Part 1)
If you are an unbeliever this morning, here is my invitation to you—“Come and see who Jesus really is.†I challenge you to take a Gospel of John and to read it daily and sincerely. Come and see who Jesus is. Do not judge the truth by what you hear in the halls of academia, what you find on the shelves of Barnes & Noble or by what tickles your ears on television. Come and see this beautiful and mistreated Jesus Christ, who is God’s Chosen King. Come and see. And, if you are a believer this morning, here is my invitation to you—Come and see things upside down. Take up your cross and follow the unlikely king from Nazareth. Accept as a compliment the insult of being called today’s equivalent of “one from Nazareth.†Stake your life on the foolish weakness of a crucified Messiah. Rejoice when you are persecuted, reviled and slandered. Count it all joy when you meet trials of many kinds. Find comfort in many tribulations, for it is only through them that we may enter the Kingdom. As we will see in this Gospel, the lonely cross leads to a glorious crown.

On being spiritual
What does it mean to be spiritual? What kind of people can know God? If human wisdom can't know God, what and who can?

Wisdom and Foolishness
The gospel is foolishness... the wisdom of this world cannot know God. But the cross reveals God to us - a foolish message for foolish people.

Proverbs: The Wisdom of the World
Proverbs - like the Scriptures in general - is very world affirming; unfortunately, many Christians are not. Though we are quick to dismiss "wordly wisdom" as foolish and sinful, we rely upon the collective wisdom of the our cultures on a daily basis. So how do we live in these two streams of wisdom, the wisdom of the world and the wisdom of God? And what does it mean that "God has made foolish the wisdom of the world?"
