Sermons About Forgive
Unmerciful Servant
Don't miss the lines from this song: "Oh the Glory of it all, is He came near. For the rescue of us all, that we may live, for the glory of it all, oh He is here. Redemption from the fall, that we may live..." That's big. Massive. Almost incomprehensible. The weight of understanding what Jesus did coming down here for us - you and me and the guy across the the row from you too. All of us. In your day to day, in your coming and going it sometimes is hard to remember, isn't it? In your problems, in your hurts, in your debts, in your debtors in can be hard to remember as well. But that doesn't mean it is any smaller. It is still glorious. You are forgiven. You are accepted. You need to frogive. You need to accept. You need to remember. Key Passage: Matthew 18:23-35

Things I Wish Jesus Never Said - Forgive or You Will Not be Forgiven
Many people have repeated the words of the Lord's Prayer, "Forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." Have you ever stopped to think what it would be like of God took note of that prayer? What if God forgave us in the same way we forgive others?

Honesty
Coming face to face with God would be a crazy thing. When it happened to Isaiah the first thing he saw was not what he might have expected. For Isaiah, a close encounter with God showed him things he didn’t realize about himself. That realization was one that led Isaiah to immediately seek forgiveness. God then not only forgave him, but he asked for his involvement in something bigger. For us, prayer can be the catalyst for that same kind of experience. When we encounter God in prayer it can be a unique window into our own soul. Whatever we find there we can know that God will not only forgive it, he will forget it and move on.

More Than Just Forgiveness
A lot of times we limit our understanding of salvation to that initial experience of God's forgiveness. But forgiveness is only the first step. The larger experience of salvation is our restoration into the people that God created us to be.

John 18:1-27 - Failing God
The people who should have been helping Jesus the most were the ones who let Him down the most. Christ was betrayed by Judas, run through an illegal trial by the high priests, and denied by Peter. We too fail Christ, but just as He forgave and restored Peter despite his failures, He will give grace and forgiveness to if we come to him in repentance, no matter what our sin is.

John 13:18-30 - Betraying God
Judas was one of Jesus' disciples, learning from Him, ministering with Him, and watching Him perform miracles, yet Judas betrayed his Lord for thirty pieces of silver. Before we look down on Judas we need to realize that when we sin we too betray God and the people around us, and our betrayal is just as foolish, wicked, and tragic.

John 3:1-16 - The Search for Truth
Many people set out in their life on a search for the truth but most get bogged down along the way by their preconceptions and refusal to admit to their sins and change. Nicodemus comes to Jesus in search of the truth and Jesus confronts his preconceptions and teaches him that he must be 'born again' by the Spirit of God so that he can see his sins, repent, and accept Christ's forgiveness and righteousness.
