Sermons About Forgiveness
What To Do With Our Guilt
Guilt often produces shame because as we come to see that we’ve done wrong, we begin to feel that we’re not being who we believe we should be. When you lie to someone, you not only feel guilt for lying, but you feel shame because you see how much of a coward you are, or how much of a conman you are. Shame brings you face-to-face with the inconsistency of your identity. With guilt, the solution is to have your sins atoned for, the penalty to be paid. With shame, the response is a desire for glory, to be covered.

What Is Christianity
Most in our culture and most who attend churches do not know what the gospel is and what Christianity is about. We each need to be able to explain our faith to others and are charged by Christ to present the good news of his Gospel to all people. This same message of the forgiveness begins in the early part of the Old Testament and continues through the New Testament.

Why Bitterness Bites and Forgiveness is Sweet
Tonight, we’re going to talk about forgiveness. Perhaps nothing God asks us to do is harder than forgiving that person who has wronged us deeply. And we’re not going to talk about little silly flaws, like the guy in traffic who cuts you off or the McDonalds server who is rude. Those are little slights that pass in a fleeting moment. No, tonight we’re going to talk about those deep hurts. Those painful blows we take from people we least expect, from people we love and cherish and trust.

About Repentance
Have you ever blown it? Totally messed up? Then comes that horrible feeling in your gut and you know you have to make it right. David the King of Israel blew it before God and in Psalm 51 we see his words as he humbles himself before and get right with God. Psalm 51 gives us good model for what it means to repent.
