Founded on Obeying Jesus
We often think that we have accomplished something when we have learned something new in the Bible. Far too often we stop at this point and do not move on to applying what we have learned and obeying the commands of Scripture. Jesus says that this is a disaster waiting to happen, like building a house without a firm foundation, and that when difficult times wash over us we will not be able to endure them. If the foundation of our lives is in walking according to God’s ways we will have deep foundations dug that will help us to stand firm in the day of testing.

Recipe #3: A Strong Foundation The WRONG Questions: Will my needs get met? What’s in it for me? Will I be happy? The RIGHT Question: Am I demonstrating the image and character of Jesus Christ? 1. Promise your mate that you will not expect them to meet all of your needs. “My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 2. Promise your mate that you will learn to love God “with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength” Mark 12:30. 3. Promise your mate that you will look to God alone to charge your battery to full. Blessed is the Nation...
In this week's message, we reflect on the values upon which the country of Canada was founded. And in light of current events in our country, we would do good to pause and think about how it is that we have strayed so far from our biblical foundations as a nation. But beyond the usual discussion about the issues facing our culture, may we be reminded of our primary responsibility as Christians: the call to fervent prayer.
