An Illustration: Hagar and Sarah
Paul resumes his argument from the Old Testament to show that the Galatians are being wrongly enslaved by the false teachers. He points out that Abraham had more than one son, but only one was the heir, according to the promise. Hagar and Sarah represent the Old and New Covenants, Law and Gospel, slavery and free sons.

Chasing the Almight - Free
A financially free person is free from things like worry and debt and free to enjoy what they have and be happy for others instead of being envious. But it's only when God becomes the highest value in my life, the absolute center of my universe that we realize it’s more important and more satisfying than anything money can offer.

Get Out the Vote
During the 1600s in colonial America, Massachusetts required property ownership in order to vote. A potential voter also had to prove that he was “sober and peaceable†and “orthodox in the fundamentals of religion.†Connecticut required church membership. Rhode Island permitted only professing Christians. Landholders could vote in New York, but Pennsylvania required voters to believe in Jesus Christ and own property.

Moving Forward Pt. 1 - Could've, Should've, Would've
Regrets over our past failures or missed opportunities can cripple us and keep us from moving forward in life. They can even begin to destroy our present lives by carrying those same failures forward. But Jesus came to free us from the regret of what 'could have been', and to restore the hope of what he promises 'will be' in our future!

God's Word is a Solid Rock (Psalm 119:89-96)
God's Word is eternal, trustworthy, and a satisfying balm to the soul that trust in it. God's word is settled. The words, theories, and counsel of men fail, but God's word stands unchanging and unbreakable. To the one who trust in His word it is a source of delight that brings satisfaction, hope, and freedom! How could we look anywhere else?

Living in Freedom (Romans 6:12-14)
Because Jesus has become propitiation for our sins, satisfying God's wrath and giving us his perfect righteousness, we are set free from the power and rule of sin. Therefore, since sin has no power over us, we have the ability to resist it, and as God's redeemed people we have the responsibility to resist it. Not only that, but we are to present ourselves to God, giving ourselves to the pursuit of him and to obedience to his will. We have been taken out of the dominion of sin and are now under the dominion of grace.

Dead to Sin, Alive to God (Romans 6:5-11)
In this passage, Paul continues to answer the question raised in Romans 6:1 - "What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?" Paul continues to provide reasons for why this should never be. In this passage, we discover the benefit in being united to Christ - both in His death and resurrection. Because we have been united to Christ in His death (which was a substitute for the punishment our sin required), sin's dominion over us, its former slaves, has been broken. In Christ, the dominion of death is also crushed. For all who place saving faith in Christ, the sting of death has been removed. Instead, we look forward to a day when we will be given glorified bodies in our resurrection from the dead. In that day, it will no longer be possible for us to sin. Yet, for this life, we are called to live as best we can like we will on that day - to live for Christ, in obedience to the commands of God. There is a life yet to come for the Christian, but may we not lose sight of the grace that is ours today to live for God as those in Christ!

Day of Judgment
Look at what is happening today! The stock market, gas and oil prices, the economy, loss of jobs, loss of homes, excessive executive pay! This is all due to “Man’s Greed!†When everything appears to be going south, and right appears to be wrong, and wrong appears to be right, remember; “God is still in control!†If you have never been saved, it’s not too late; today is the day of salvation! You can be saved right now! It’s free and easy! Sincerely and humbly, say these words, “Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and you died on the cross for my sins and my salvation, forgive my sins. Take over my life, thank you for dying on the cross for me! I welcome you into my heart, make me a new creature. Allow me to serve and honor You. If you prayed these words and really meant it, you are a Born Again Christian! Find a local church to serve and grow in Gods provision and abundance.

Guilt and Grace
Because the perfect justice of God and the perfect grace of God met at the cross of Jesus Christ, we can be declared innocent before God; made right with God and reconciled to Him.
