From the Gospel to the Garden

The Spirit and the Flesh
The Bible tells us that Christians have two opposing motivational systems working inside of our hearts: the Spirit and the Flesh. One works for our good, while the other only has the appearance of working for our good. When we function from one or the other, it has a significant impact on our character. In this sermon, we take a look at how God changes our character through the Holy Spirit, Who changes our motivations and desires.

Saying Isn't Believing
Proverbs 6:1-11 tells us how to get out of financial debt with what David Ramsey calls "Gazelle Intensity". This passion is motivated by fear of bondage. Rom 13:8 tells us we have another debt of love to God and people that can never be repaid. The passion to live out this debt is motivated by freedom in Christ! If 'Gazelle Intensity" is needed to break the bonds of financial debt motivated by bondage, then how much more "Gazelle Intensity" should Christ-followers have to live out our debt of love motivated by freedom? The hindrance to RUN in this freedom is either raw unbelief or spiritual slumber. This message examines these hindrances in two areas; talking to God and listening to God.
