It Is Finished
In 700 B.C. the ancient prophet Isaiah peeled back a new scroll and wrote these words: 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Its FRIDAY - The Angels Are Silent
Friday has arrived. Jesus is arrested; betrayed by the kiss of a friend. Peter, with a quick draw of the sword cuts of the right ear of Malchus the security guard. Mark loses his clothes in the scuffle and runs away naked. The rest of the disciples fled leaving Jesus alone. He is bound and taken to the home of the former High Priest Annas. The final countdown of eight long hours to the cross has begun. Jesus said He could call on 12 legions (72,000) of angels who were at His disposal. These angels were with Him in eternity past. They stood at the attention of the Father and could be sent immediately. But the angels were never called. WHY? Pastor Mel
