Lesson Aim: To grow in our understanding of the generous heart of God and how we can treat others as He has treated us.
Global giving statistics support the fact that the more money someone has, the less willing they are to part with it. Isn’t that odd? Percentage-wise, the most generous people are those who have the least. Perhaps that is why the apostle Paul wrote to his mentee, Timothy: "Command the rich to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share”. This message provides a framework for unmasking greed in our hearts, and a strategy for increasing our generosity.
In his second letter to the church at Corinth, the apostle Paul gave some extended teaching on principles of giving which are very instructive for Christians in every generation. This message provides us with a personal scorecard for assessing how we are doing in the area of financial stewardship.
In generous community those who have capacity help those among them in need.
