Ready
David was ready to face Goliath by all the things God had brought him through as a boy. He killed lions and bears and was not afraid to face a giant. He knew God was in control, and knew he couldn't loose this battle.

Alternate Outlook
When facing Goliath, David's unique perspective allows him to focus on the bigness of God instead of the stature of the giant before him. Compared to God's might, Goliath is puny and weak. So when we question how we could possibly do anything to remedy the problems of the world, we need only to realize that our God is plenty big and plenty strong to defeat the giants we confront.
