Union with Christ in His Body the Church -- 1 Cor. 12:1-11
Union with Christ is the basis for life within the church. As we are united with Christ we are to be united with other members of Christ's body. The Christian body should demonstrate mutual dependence, interdependence and building up of one another.
The Book of Acts: Marks of a Movement
Our mission is to raise up generations of Christians who lead as God would lead, who model lives founded on God’s Word, and who publicly celebrate His beauty and grace with the people of San Luis Obispo County.
Unity in God's church
Preacher: Pastor Tony Simpson. Passage: 1 Corinthians 12 vv12-26. God is the one who has put the church together and we each enter through the only entrance, faith in Christ. God has united us together in Christ and we are to keep this unity. How we look at one another is key to this as we understand the abilities we have are gifts from God and are to be used to serve the church. There are no superior or inferior gifts in the church as all are equally necessary for us to function as the body of Christ.
Your Gifts Matter
It's so easy to feel like we don't matter in a church the size of Mission. But the Apostle Paul challenges us that each one of us does matter and that if we don't 'get' that, Christ's Church suffers. Listen to the claims made by Paul and ask yourself: "What if these claims are true?" If they are, you'll want to jump in with God's people and change the world!
Membership
This week continues the M's series and this week we look at Membership. Pete looks at why we go to church and what it means to be a part of the body, what is to be saved as a body and work as a body.
