Jesus' Vision for Ministry
Matthew 9:35-10:4 is an important bridge between Christ’s Word and Work, and his Mission. We’ve seen the beginnings of Jesus’ ministry (chapters 1-4), we’ve heard his teaching (chapters 5-7), and we’ve seen his work (chapters 8-9). Now it is time to learn about his mission as he commissions his disciples to do his work. Our text highlights four key commitments that are central to Jesus’ vision for ministry. And today I’d like to identify them and try to apply them to us at College Park.

Content with what we do
As the writer of Ecclesiastes reminds us, without God everything we do is ultimately fruitless; meaningless. But with God, we can be content in our work; contentment frees us from the "if only"s; we are where we are to do Gods sovereign will. We should not value ourselves by what we do, because God has already valued us - he paid for us with His Son. Therefore, it's not for others to judge our worth, nor should we judge the worth of others by their job, character or any other attribute. We all have different gifts, roles or functions that we must faithfully use for the good of the whole body of Christ. God has made us as he has, to paly a particular part. We can serve God in all things, and it is He who gives us strength (Col 3:22-24).

Live Asking
As Jesus continues his teachings from the Sermon on the Mount, He directs people to the art of asking, seeking and knocking. Jesus reveals the heart of the Father in regards to his view of providing for His children. Jesus teaches us to live asking for what we need and want but are we ready to get what God gives whether a fulfillment or a wait sign?

Restoring God's Glory
God's house is about Him not about you. Nothing on earth is about anything. Everything is about GOD,all creation, all time, all is about GOD. The church is due for a new season. We can say it will never be like it use to be, but that doesn't mean it can't be better. God will always challenge us to stay in his house. God's church will always be challenged to stay focused on Him .

What Does the Holy Spirit Do?
While I am truly ecstatic regarding all of the above I am mindful that we alone are incapable of saving a life or even drawing somebody to Christ, this is the ministry of the Holy Spirit. We can work ever so hard, give so much of our time and money but, if the Holy Spirit is not engaged nothing of significance will ever be accomplished. A heart cannot be wonderfully warmed for Christ without the Holy Spirit for it is the Holy Spirit that points the person to Christ.
