Sermons About Give
Servants
As a church, we value being: Servants – Meeting people's spiritual, social, emotional, and physical needs by teaching biblically, providing for and enjoying fellowship, being available to celebrate and grieve, and giving of our resources to provide food, clothing, and shelter. Acts 2:44-47

Give Freely
Matthew 10:8 states, "Freely you have received, freely give." It is a foundational verse for our vision at Harbor of Hope; to be people who give freely, who lead generous lives. The questions that arise from this message have to do with whether or not we, as God's people, have become overly concerned with our own comfort, as oppossed to investing our lives in the causes of Christ and His Kingdom.

A Body to Offer
During O.T. days, a Man could pay the debt of his Kinsman or relative. A slave could be redeemed by his brother or cousin. Jesus had to be our relative, a man, a man with a body to offer.

Living in a Dying World - Part 2
The world is a messed up place. It is broken and falling apart, and we can see it almost every place that we look. It is a dying world. But as we saw last week, the end is near. Our hope is not that this world can be fixed, but that Christ will redeem us and establish his kingdom. Last week, we began to look at four commands that Peter gives us about how to live in a dying world. Today, we look at the second and third commands, both tied together by the common theme of love for others. It is easy in a dying world to gather stuff for ourselves and horde it so that we have it when we need it. This reveasl a lack of love that stems from a lack of understanding what Christ did for us when he died to save us. As we look at these two commands today in 1 Peter 4:8–9, we need to remember that Christ suffered for us to give us life and hope for eternity. And because he has, we can suffer for others to help them just as we have been helped.

Generosity (Vision Update and Sermon)
We admit it. We have an agenda: we want you to join the church. All believers in Jesus in every time and place are members of the universal church, but committing to a local church is a vital part of the spiritual life for every Christ-follower. In our teaching series, CHURCH 101, we are taking several weeks to describe the foundational commitments of church membership. Our members are those who have accepted the mission of helping others become passionate followers of Jesus through the ministry and community of this church. Over the next few weeks, we will discuss what that means as we explore practically how we can live for Jesus as a part of His church.

Sacred Community: Galatians 6.1-10
We continue to pose this question as we gather this week: What is sacred? What is sacred to you? When you think of your time, your priorities and the different spheres of your life what is sacred? We will talk this week about God's sacred community, the church.

Meno (abide): John 15.1-11
As this year ends and next week a new one begins there is a word that is so crucial to this journey that we must all know and embrace. This week we will look at this word and be encouraged to continue to give presence.
