Sermons About Glory
I love to tell the Story...and Jesus is the hero
We spiritualize Lazarus into happy story. No! It is a “for the joy set before Him” story. Its a glory on the other side of suffering story. Have you noticed that this is a great story? Hero, villains, conflict, death and redemption. This is what the story of Laz is about. Its a story of hope. The hope looks like this. If Jesus can so easily raise Lazarus, then he can raise himself. If Jesus can raise himself, then he can raise you and me. Who is the hero of our story? JESUS is the hero of our story.

I Love to Tell the Story...if you believe, you will see the glory of God
Jesus raises Lazarus so that people may believe that God sent Him as a sign of God's glory that would lure rebels into reconciled relationship. His ultimate display is His own death on the cross, where love and justice meet. The story of Lazarus is much bigger than Lazarus. It is a sign pointing out that Jesus is a treasure better than all other treasures and through Him you can know life as God intended life to be. Be part of the story that is much bigger that yourself, than Santa Margarita Community Church – and this will be a sign to our community that Jesus is a great savior.

Showing His Glory
Showing His Glory Exodus 7:14-24 The Book of Exodus is primarily about glory. Four words to help put the plagues of Exodus in context: I. Supremacy Living for the glory of God means living to proclaim and declare the supremacy of God in all things. II. Supernatural Living for the glory of God means seeing and declaring the supremacy of God in His supernatural attributes. III. Judgment Living for the glory of God means seeing and declaring the supremacy of God in His righteous judgment. IV. Redemption Living for the glory of God means living to proclaim the supremacy of the cross of Jesus Christ in all things. Scripture: Exodus 7:14-24 Exodus 12:13 Colossians 1:17 Ephesians 1:7 Romans 1:20 1 Corinthians 1:18 Romans 9:17 2 Corinthians 2:14-16 Romans 9:22-23 Galatians 6:14 (KJV) Revelation 11:13 Revelation 14:7 Revelation 15:8 Psalm 7:11 2 Timothy 4:8

A Great Kingdom Cause
Whenever a person believes strongly in a cause, their life will reflect it. The cause of Christ was certainly reflected in the way He lived and died. As a result of His sacrifice for mankind, every great kingdom Christian should seek to bring glory to the Lord Jesus by carrying out the cause of Christ.

Jesus’ Prayer for Glory
Jesus Prayer for His Church: This is the first sermon in a three-part series on John 17 examining what Jesus prayed for his church. In this message, we see that Jesus is seeking his own glory but, unlike other glory-seekers, he actually is deserving of it because he is no ordinary man but God himself.

I Love to Tell the Story...of how Jesus' glory is for gladness
I live in the real world and my faith must also. The plastic faith of Jesus trinkets and bad Christian movies makes me angry. Making Jesus to serve our interest, as we talked about last week, does not come anywhere near to the life that I actually live. I don't know if you've noticed, but actual relationships don't fit into 5 steps – or 40 love dares, whatever is the fad today. It just doesn't work that way and Jesus never works that way. Jesus is intent on showing us that glory at all costs. Because He loves me he wants me to believe through seeing a display of glory. He is glad when suffering allows me to believe. Lazarus is an example of God's nearness and very particular governance of the worst we can imagine in this world. He loves us so much He will providentially guides us into and through suffering so that we might see His glory and believe – this will make both him and us glad.
