Sermons About Goal
The Risk of Going
The risk of going is a willingness to leave behind what is valuable to me in order to pursue what is valuable to God.

Living In Between
We are frequently living in between - between relationships, between projects, between jobs, between weekends. As believers, we are living between the first and second coming of Christ. Eternal perspective is part of our church-wide goal for 2009. What should our lives look like between now and then?

Would I have Found Him?
Would I have Found Him? We still look for Him, and wonder at His ways as we try and come to terms with His ability to hide His profoundness in plain sight. How could anyone know that they were to follow a star to find a King? The quest of the wise men and their subsequent success offers reassurance to us that even the most unexplainable and difficult ways of God can be discovered and followed. 1. Recognizing His directives. 2. Setting priorities to realize the goal. 3. Dealing with doubt. 4. Retaining strength for the quest.

Pressing On Toward The Goal
Pressing On Toward The Goal Philippians 3:7-14 Paul says he has many reasons to put confidence in the law. His “religious pedigree†includes circumcision, tribe of Benjamin, a pharisee, and legalistic righteousness. Everything Paul once considered profit he now sees as loss and calls it all rubbish. Paul speaks of a righteousness that comes from law and a righteousness that comes from God by faith. In Philippians 3:10, Paul wants to know three things. He wants to know Christ. He wants to know the power of His resurrection and he wants to know the fellowship of sharing in his suffering. Paul realizes that he has not fully realized or attained his goal but he has purposed in his heart and is determined to press on. He says, “But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I Press on.

Pursuing the Goal
What are your goals in life? The Apostle Paul considered everything he had accomplished rubbish compared to the goal of knowing Christ and spending eternity with him. What would it mean if Christ was your one goal and you pursued him with everything you have?
