What does “honor your mother and father” look like exactly? According to the proverbs, a wise & prudent child refers to being economically responsible, and a righteous child (keeps Torah) honors their parents. Thus, we honor our parents when we take control of our lives and place Christ as our highest priority. But is it that easy? We will explore what it means to really honour our parents today.
Single? Dating? Married? Divorced? Kids? No kids? Love your parents? Can’t stand them? What does God say about our modern relationships and family? Our new series explores the relationships that make up and sometimes define our lives. We all face challenges when it comes to relationships. God’s Modern Family covers biblical principles that we can all put to use.
Each of us has a deep need to feel connected, but often we go through life lonely. Does the Bible have anything to say about this? Exploring John 1:12-13 we will discover who we are and our relationship with God. It is important to contrast the way we tend to address our loneliness and the way the Bible addresses it. We tend to look for connections in negative areas of life. The Bible says that our loneliness and alienation will only truly be healed when we are adopted into the family of God.
God has given us everything! The tithe is an acknowledgment of that! God owns everything and has shared it with us...therefore it's a fitting act of faith and worship to give 10% back to him!
