Perilous Times and The Profitable Word of God
In 2 Timothy 3, Paul warns Timothy that perilous times are to be expected during the church age. Evil men acting like true believers will cause many problems and lead many astray. But Timothy was different because he had followed Paul and was to continue living the godly life, no matter what happened. Paul then stresses the profitability of the 'God breathed' Scriptures for Christians.
