Sermons About God
You're Invited II: Who
This is the second part of a series looking at what the next step of a journey with Christ is about, inviting people on this journey with us. This week focused on who we are called to invite on this journey with us. We are called to invite all who are in need, as Christ has met a need in us

We Study to Do the Will of God
No study of a passage in the Bible is complete if it is not applied to one's life. God does not want a bunch of computers (heads full of information), He wants disciples (humans being transformed by knowledge because it compells them to action). The "words" portion of the sermon is short...but the actions lasted a while...

How BIG is Your God?
"Many men and women today are living, often with inner dissatisfaction, without any faith in God at all. This is not because they are particularily wicked or selfish . . . . but because thay have not found with their adult minds a God big enough to "account for life, big enough to "fit in with" the new scientific age, big enough to command their highest admiration and respect, and consequently, their willing cooperation." J. B. Phillips, "Your God is Too Small", P. 8

He is More Than Enough

Named
What's in a name? Significance? Love? Recapturing a memory? Maybe it's your grandpa's heritage or your mom's favorite aunt. Could be a biblical hero or a forgotten saint? Perhaps it's from a land far away or a character that's close to home. It could even be Hope, Faith, or Grace. Last year, in BC, there were 283 baby boys given the name Ethan. Interestingly enough, of the roughly 22,000 boys born last year not even one was named "Friend of Sinners." Key Passage: John 7:37-38

Victory Over Carnality Part 2
This is a second sermon in chapter 8 of Romans going through verses 3-6. This was an unusual Sunday in that not only was there not very many people at Church, but the ceiling came crashing down during Sunday School. Nobody was hurt.

The Horror of a Life Against God - ENGAGE #6
In this series, we will study Daniel 1-6. There are many parallels between the situation Daniel faced and our situation today. Like Daniel, we work and live among a great variety of gods--not only those of other formal religions, but also the gods of achievement, independence, knowledge, pleasure, and ideology. In a religiously diverse culture which is at best indifferent and at worst hostile to faith in the one true God, what role should Christ-followers play in society? Rather than isolating ourselves or rejecting our world, we want to ENGAGE our world as people who trust in a powerful God, make positive contributions to society, and bring hope to others. If you've ever wondered how Monday-Saturday were related to Sunday, this series is for you.
