To Be the People of God (Exodus 3)
What does it mean to be the people of God? From Exodus 3 we see that: the Holy One will dwell with his people; the God of Abraham will deliver his people; I AM WHO I AM will be with his people; and the Mighty One will vindicate his people. We will see different facets of who God is and what it means that the holy God dwells with us, delivers us, and vindicates us.

Acts 11:19-24 - The Report on Alathia
As the Gospel of Jesus Christ spread out from Jerusalem it came to the city of Antioch. A church was planted there and many people came to faith in Christ, and the report about the good things the church was doing made it back to Jerusalem. Almost two thousand years later the Gospel has come to the Issaquah Highlands, and a report about Alathia would say that we are pretty good at compassion, being generous with our money, and community service, but that we really need to improve in fellowship, regular weekly involvement, and sharing our faith with our neighbors.

That You May Know: The Story of Exodus
For his own sake and glory, God manifested his glory and greatness by acting with signs and wonders to deliver the nation of Israel. God acts for his own glory, saves a people for his own glory, and calls us to live for his glory.

Acts 10:24-48 - Unlearning Sinful Habits
Peter explains to Cornelius how he had to unlearn the prejudice he harbored against Gentiles that he learned from his culture and learn how God loved all people and wants the Gospel to go out to all of the nations. We too have learned a lot of bad habits and misconceptions from our culture about what it means to follow Christ and be a part of a church and we will need to unlearn them in order to be effective witnesses for Christ.

Acts 10:1-33 - Leaving Our Comfort Zones
God asked Peter to go and visit a Roman soldier to tell him about Jesus, but first Peter had to get over his aversion to interacting with people from other nations because they were ceremonially unclean. In the same way God is sending us out into the world to tell others about Him, and obeying Him will require us to get over our hang-ups, step out of our comfort zones, and sacrifice for the people around us.
