Sermons About God
True Righteousness & Anger, pt. 2 (Matthew 5:23-26)
The righteousness that marks one's participation in the kingdom, the righteousness that was always intended, is a level of living in relationship with God that extends to the very depths of the heart. True righteousness, being in the kingdom, being a Christian is a matter of the inner man. Follow the Lord as He gives to illustrations of how this righteousness, in relation to the commandment "You shall not murder," looks in the life of His servants.

We Study Because We Love Jesus
People who love Jesus love the Church because 'she' is His body. As we all know, churches (i.e., local congregations) are made up of imperfect people...so relationships are difficult. Yet we are called to be at peace with one another. That command (it is not a suggestion but a command) raises a slew of questions. One question is, "How can someone be at peace with others if they are not at peace within their own person?"

God is....Revealer
We do not have a God who set the universe in motion, but who then ceased to be involved, leaving things to run themselves. He does not leave us with just nature to draw conclusions about him. No, he has sent his living word, Jesus to save us from sin and death, he has provides us with his written word, the Bible and has mandated all of us to proclaim that word, to be prophetic when he chooses to reveal to us. And through that revelation God wants us to know himself, to know his plan for the world, but most of all to know that he cares for us personally.

Learning to Love - 1 Corinthians 13 (Stand Alone)
Sometimes, we need to call timeout, huddle up as a team, step back from the moment and remember why we are here. This sermon is a reminder to keep first things first. What is the first thing? Love is. They are many important things that happen in the life of a church--programs, budgets, meetings, facilities. These things are important because they enable ministry, but they are not the main thing. The struggle for a church is to keep the main thing the main thing. If we allow secondary things to distract, divide or discourage us, we will not achieve the primary thing God has called us to do. In this sermon, we will look at 1 Corinthians 13 as we more fully learn to love.

I Can't Believe
The emotional and intellectual walls that keep us from believing in Christianity. A disbelief in the supernatural, a disbelief in absolute truth, a disbelief in the unique claims of Christianity are 3 of the intellectual walls we use. Emotional walls are that we can't believe because of evil in the world, we can't believe because of pain in our lives, we can't believe because of issues we have with our earthly Father. We must dismantle those walls in order to believe.
