The Gospel is about Surrender, not Self-Improvement
The Gospel demands not that we improve ourselves so we can receive it, but that we totally surrender. In this sermon, Pastor Gary shows us how Jesus challenged the Rich Young Ruler to surrender that which he was holding to.
The Gospel is about Receiving, not Earning
The Gospel cannot be earned, only received. In this sermon, Pastor Gary helps us see how we are transformed by receiving the Gospel.
The Gospel is a Relationship, not a Religion
The Gospel is about a Person, not a philosophy, about new birth, not better behavior. It’s about relationship, not religion, nor irreligion.
The Message
Does truth matter? Does God grade on a curve? What is the gospel? Listen as pastor Wayne continues preaching on Paul's final words to Timothy.
The Gospel is Good News, Not Good Advice
We’re starting a new 4-week series entitled “EVANGELIUM: What the Gospel Is… And Isn’t.” Our theme verse for this series is: 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 (ESV) Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved. Like Paul, we want to “remind” you of the gospel. We want to make sure you really know what the gospel is… and what it isn’t.
Lord Teach us the Good News
Lord teach us the good news that that tomb is empty. Do we live out the good news of the kingdom?
Entertainment
We want a Savior unless we need one. Jesus came to save not impress.
Kingdom Manifesto
During Lent we are looking at the gospel of Luke in relation to Building the Kingdom of God/Heaven in the here and now. In this first sermon the question is asked as to what Jesus thought that Kingdom looked like.
Prescription of Evangelism
Churches today are dying for one reason; they have stopped doing evangelism the way the early church did. Within the first few weeks of the birth of the church over 20,000 people were saved. Church pews stay empty when God’s people fail to reach out and evangelize. God’s model for church growth is not “come and see” but rather “go and compel” (Luke 14:23). When is the last time we “compelled” someone to come to church?
