Making Known His Word
One of the responsibilities God has given to his church and his people is to make known his word. In an age of extreme relativism where everyone judges truth for themselves, we must allow ourselves to be judged to be judged and evaluated by the Bible. Scripture teaches us about God, his gospel, and ourselves, and our proper response to this gospel. Our focus on his word is expressed in how much time we spend teaching it, studying it, memorizing it, discussing it. We are not only to proclaim God's word but also to treasure it, hear it, and respond to it appropriately.

Intro to the Gospel of John
It is one of the most profound pieces of literature in recorded history. It is the pivot point of the Christian faith and it was written by the elder statesman of a church facing deep theological and moral questions. The gospel of John is a simple, but profound apologetic for the deity of Christ. In this message, we share the history, purpose, and outline of the gospel of John.

Gospel-Centered Husbands
Gospel-Centered Husbands A gospel-centered husband is one who cultivates the gospel in himself and in his wife. Far too many husbands spend their time cultivating their careers and their hobbies rather than the gospel. By reorienting our lives to Jesus, we have THE example of what a gospel- centered husband should be in Christ's relationship to his bride, the church.

Observing and Praising the Lord
This psalm, like many places in Scripture, commands us to praise the Lord with joy. This does not mean that we should manufacture an artificial emotional response but that we should observe the majesty of God and His perfect character and then respond accordingly. We sometimes have trouble praising God and this often happens because we haven’t spent enough time observing and meditating on who He is and what He has done for us, especially from what we see in the Bible. When we stop and spend time thinking about how powerful, faithful, trustworthy, and loving the Lord is it will help us to respond to His greatness with fitting words of praise.

The Soil of Our Hearts
Jesus is calling us to have soft and turned over soil. He desires soft hearts to plant His word in. He desires that we turn from our busyness and distractions that keep us from hearing.

Lord of the Harvest
In this week's message we see Jesus refer to an oncoming crowd full of harassed and hopeless people, as a "harvest". Join us as we learn how the Gospel forces us to both identify with people who are harassed and hopeless, and at the same time gives us the ability to take part in the harvest Jesus describes in this passage of the Bible.

Paul's Thanksgiving and Prayer
Do you sometimes feel a disconnect between God's promises and your heart's response to those promises? The apostle Paul follows up his doxology of praise at the beginning of Ephesians with a prayer that the gospel would sink in and transform.

Freedom from Sin: How the Gospel Still Affects Us ALL
Have you ever wrestled with sin to a great degree? Or have you ever wrestled with the same sin over and over again? Or have you ever turned your back on Christ for a period of your life and regularly lived in sin? Chances are, you have experienced the reality of one of these questions. Yet the entire 6th chapter of Romans declares that Christians are dead to sin. What could that mean? Even true, godly Christians struggle to become more like Christ. Today we will look at how this Gospel message of freedom continues to affect Christians even after their conversion.

Super-Abounding Grace (Romans 5:20-21)
God provided the law to his people. His law has many functions; first, it is a gift, to guide us in a way of living that pleases him and which is actually best for us. Second, the law shows us what sin is, exposing our sin. But more than this, our sin is provoked by the law, since we desire to do whatever is forbidden. But God did not leave us in sin; he also gave us the law to more greatly display his grace. Sin is revealed by the law, but grace is revealed even more.

Galatians 1.10: Whose Pleasure Do You Seek?
Whose pleasure do you seek? Pleasing God and pleasing others or ourselves are mutually exclusive, you can’t seek after one and the other. You either seek the pleasure of one or another and we all make a god out of what we take most pleasure in. Who you take pleasure in (who you desire to please) depends on whether you will truly be truly happy or not. May you like Paul seek after the pleasure of God.

The Glory of God in the Gospel of God, Reading the Cultural Texts Around Us
How does the gospel best move into a culture? Is it through power and influence, or is it through an informed band of believers living out their life on every level of human culture? How can we be involved with culture and engage it intelligently, without falling into the mechanisms and world systems that ultimately destroy it? How does the gospel story intersect the human one? Only by reading the culture, can we answer that question.

To the Praise of His Glory
In the opening sermon of this series, we looked at the Apostle Paul's spontaneous outburst of praise when contemplating the work of the triune God in creating a people for His own glory. The three persons of the Trinity were at work - the Father electing, the Son redeeming, and the Spirit sealing - all to build a new community, the church, which would exist for the glory of God.

Gospel-Centered Marriage
If Jesus is the reigning Lord of heaven and earth, then discipleship (true Christianity) is measured not simply by what I believe, but by how I live my life in relation to the rule of Jesus in my marriage. Is the gospel the center of my marriage? If not, what is? Why do I believe these other things, idols, should be at the center of my marriage?

Galatians 1.6-9: No Other Gospel
Paul is astonished at how quickly and easily the Galatians are being led astray to another gospel, which is no gospel at all. He proclaims that their is one unchanging gospel and one who teaches a different gospel, rejecting the true gospel is to cursed.

Righteousness
We’re all starved for someone outside of us who is greater than us to say we’re wanted, we’re accepted, and we’re right in their eyes. This is a universal need. How do we deal with our need to feel justified? How do we deal with our universal need to be made right, to be counted as right? This is what the parable is all about.

God-given Spirit During Trials
King David went through many arduous trials during his life, and God filled him with His Holy Spirit to help him persevere through them. David wrote this song during a time of trials and the God-given attitude during he exhibited during these trials is an example to us. David patiently trusted in the Lord’s provision and protection, he praised Him throughout the trials, he joyfully depended on the Lord, he was humbly teachable, and he was realistic about what he was up against.

Made Right With God (Romans 5:18-19)
All men are born in Adam and inherit original sin which brings enmity with God. How does one become right with God? We cannot make ourselves righteous. By faith in Christ, we are imputed the righteousness of Christ. Adam's sin was imputed to all men, those who have faith in Christ have their sin imputed to Christ and Christ's righteousness imputed to them.

The Glory of God in the Gospel of God, How Has the Culture Shaped the Gospel?
We are called to be ambassadors of the Gospel of Christ to the culture by using the culture to illustrate it as Paul did to the Gentiles but we should not let the culture shape God's Gospel or our theology. The worldviews and philosophies within a culture often shape us without us knowing it. God gives Adam and Eve a clear story, yet they chose to believe in another “Has God said…?” (Genesis 3:1). It is this restructuring toward our own desire to be god that shapes the gospel we preach.

Gospel-Centered Singleness
Gospel-Centered Singleness Singles are often times categorized in the church -- "not yet married." This makes them seem "incomplete" or "second class" at times. In the first message of the Gospel-Centered Home series, we take an in-depth look at gospel-centered singleness. The gospel calls singles to embrace their current state of singleness as a gift from God in order to maximize their effectiveness for the gospel. What does this mean biblically? Practically? What are the obstacles? What are the solutions?

Galatians 1.1-5: The Gospel of Grace and Peace
Paul tells us in Galatians 5.1, It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery As Paul writes to the Galatians there is something important at stake. It is freedom. True freedom was being attacked in his day and it is being attacked in our day as well. We must lift up Jesus, who is the freedom giver. The cross of Christ is the only way one can experience true freedom and the Spirit of Christ is the only way one can live out God's aim and mission. Over the next few months we will look at God's desire of freedom through the book of Galatians. We will see what God has done to make freedom possible, we will see the message of freedom and see how one who is truly free lives. Our prayer is that nothing would hold you back from living out God's aim and mission. Our prayer is that you would be free and therefore live a life of freedom.

Dying to Get In
God finds His joy, not in the destruction of the wicked, but in the recovery of sinners. We often miss the truth that our God is a God of tremendous and infinite joy. It may even be hard for us to see Him in this way. But you need to know that God experiences unending and infinite joy every moment.

The Lord is My Shepherd Part 3
King David continues to teach us about how God loves us by using the illustration of a shepherd taking care of his flock of sheep. Shepherds had to prepare fields to remove poisonous plants and they would anoint the sheep with oil to ward of harmful insects. God looks after us in a similar way as He provides for our needs and watches over us. It is amazing to know that the God who rules over the whole universe cares for insignificant creatures like us. We should celebrate this care and then love other people with the same kind of care that God has shown to us.

Obstacles to Jesus
Christians often emphacize doing things, rather than becoming things. Focusing on outward actions wrongly takes precedence over inward transformation. This mindset becomes an obstacle to Jesus, because we falsely associate salvation and a relationship with Jesus with our own sense of "goodness". In turn, this is communicated to our neighbors, our friends, and the rest of the world by both our actions and words. Thankfully, the Gospel stands in complete opposition to this obstacle and tears down the walls we often build. Join us as we re-learn the gospel of grace, which we've been called to live and share.

From Adam to Christ (Romans 5:12-14)
Adam and Christ both represented groups of people. Adam represented all humanity and through him we all sinned and die. Christ represents all those who believe in Him, and through him we have obeyed and live. It may seem unfair that Adam's sin be counted as our own, but it is equally "unfair" that Christ's righteousness be counted as ours. By grace through faith in Christ, salvation is offered to all of Adam's descendants.

The Lord is My Shepherd Part 2
Sheep are powerless to fend off predators so a good shepherd must be skilled in fighting so that he can protect his flock from harm. The Bible teaches us that God is the shepherd of those who believe in Him, so they have the most powerful being in the universe as their protector, and the wisest being in the universe as their guide. This does not mean that God will never lead His children into difficult circumstances or make their life easy and comfortable, but instead it means that when we go through circumstances as dark as death itself that He is right there beside us to protect us and guide us through them, and this should be a source of tremendous comfort and hope in the midst of trying times.

Embracing Authority
Is Jesus good? Is Jesus powerful? Is Jesus fully satisfying? Is the Gospel true? The answer to each of these questions becomes a basis for either denying or embracing the authority of Jesus. If the answer to all of these questions is "Yes", then there is compelling reason to both embrace and respond to His authority. But, what are the obstacles we face?

A Diamond on Black Velvet: The Gospel and its setting
I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith. Romans 1.16,17 Often the first three chapters of Romans are broken down into such small bits that we lose the whole message of this incredible text. Today in the Word we will be looking at this remarkable and very convicting explanation of the gospel as we continue our study of the New Testament book of Romans. We encourage you to read and re-read this book during the summer months.

Let The Nations Be Glad
Psalm 67 includes prayer, praise, thanksgiving, historical reminder, and imprecation. It expresses a pride in Jehovah God for His care over His people and His majesty in the universe. Pastor Tyson illustrates this exuberant psalm using the analogy of four chambers of the psalmist's heart: The psalmist's petition, purpose, passion, and prediction.

How do we get the kiss of the Father? How do we experience His grace so that it is a reality to us and not just a nice concept or heart-warming parable?
