Change A Life
Could you dare to change a life? Could you dare to let God work through you so that someone might come to know him? Tonight, we look at a passage from Romans and what can happen when you will move aside and let God work through you in someone else's life. (The video played during this sermon can be found @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elMgQ2mPjH8)
Why Should Christians Love One Another?
Tonight, we rejoin our study of 1 John and look at the test of love discussed in chapter 4. The test is simple: if you love God, you WILL love your Church family...yes, even those that we don't think deserve our love, time and effort. How do we as the Body of Christ measure up to loving the unlovely and unlovable knowing that God loved us when we were that way?
The Gospel at the Lake
This week The Beacon Church and Midlands Deaf Church baptized 7 people at Lake Murray, SC. We invite you to listen to the Gospel as it was shared just before baptism. If you would like to talk with someone about the Gospel or your salvation, or if you accepted Christ and want to let someone know, contact us at thebeacon.irmo@gmail.com
My Life Revolves around...(?)
How would you finish the sentence "My life revolves around..."? If you answer with anything other than God or Jesus Christ you need to reevaluate. Tonight, we take a look at the God centered life vs the ME centered life and discuss wisdom vs knowledge.
What Did Jesus Think About Scripture?
Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, no one really argues about that. He is also our model, and this is where it can get tricky. When we read the Bible and we decide what we think about scripture it's important to ask ourselves the question that is the topic of tonight's sermon. If Jesus is our Lord and Savior AND our model then our views on scripture should mirror His.
How Are Believers Supposed to Relate to This World?
One of the most common themes in the New Testament is "Do not love the world". So, as Christians, how are we to relate to a world to which we don't belong? Do we separate ourselves entirely, or jump in with both feet and look as much like it as we can? Tonight's passage shows us what Jesus had to say on this topic.
The Christian Life, In Perspective
We all have bad days, we know this. Sometimes bad days turn into bad weeks, bad months or even bad years. When things like this happen, we need to turn to God's word for encouragement. That's the topic of this week's sermon, keeping our Christian life in perspective. Listen as we discuss Paul's way of dealing with troubled times.
Yes, Christianity is Exclusive!
What is intolerance? Not, what does the world think it is, but what is it really? Today, we talk about this question and why believing that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven is simply not intolerant.
Who Follows Your Example?
Whether you realize it or not, you are an example to someone. It might be a child, a friend, or a maturing christian, but someone is following your lead. While this can be hard to handle, it's true. Tonight, we discuss Paul's directions to the Corinthians on how to live a life that is unoffensive to others, and most importantly, pleasing to God.
Can A Believer Lose Their Salvation?
Tonight, we look at a very difficult and controversial topic. It is one that has been asked by many people in many ways. Thankfully, God answers this question for us. We believe you should know why you believe what you believe, so listen to this one then study it on your own!
