One of the main themes that stands out in the Gospel of John is the betrayal of Judas. Today we will explore Judas’ betrayal of Jesus and learn from it. Jesus loved Judas. He washed Judas’ feet. He offered Judas the opportunity to repent right up to the end. But Judas walked away from the love of Jesus. Later, like Esau, Judas felt remorse, but couldn’t find repentance though he sought for it with tears. It was too late. Jesus said, “While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light” (John 12:36a).
