Sermons about Gratefulness
It's not unusual for people to celebrate. Just attend a sporting event, a birthday party, a political convention or wedding. Did you also know that celebration is a central teaching (discipline) of our Lord? Expressing gratitude and thanksgiving is food for the soul. This next point of interest in our spiritual journey is explored through this message.
We are to be thankful for the providence of God, the provision of God, the power of God, and His paid attention (love).
The people of Israel made the same mistake that many Christians still make today; they thought that they deserved the grace and mercy of God. Thus, their pride and unthankfulness kept them from enjoying the blessings of God. This teaching helps us know how to position ourselves for God's best by understanding that they only thing we really deserve is God's wrath, and as such, we cannot claim any of His blessings by our own merits. Therefore, we must learn to praise and thank God for what we do have rather than fixating on what we do not have.
