Sermons About Gratitude
A fresh song
Many of us knew long before American Idol came along that not everyone can sing. I personally cannot sing and am thankful for folks who have confirmed in a loving way that I just can't carry a tune. But even tone deaf people like me must understand that singing is not only a voice deal, it comes from a much, much deeper place within us. True singing flows out from the spirit, a place of deep gratitude. If we have experienced the lift, our soul cannot be silenced, its sings a beautiful song. The question we need to face is not how does my voice sound but how does my soul sound? Key Passage: Psalm 40

Life is Good
Before Jesus went to the cross He promised His disciples that they would suffer persecution. As He was confirming the promises of the Gospel to them on the eve of His crucifixion this was among them. As Americans we are truly blessed in the sense that our founding fathers came from a culture of persecution and protected us from a lot of that kind of thinking as they framed our country's governing documents. I some sense though having been protected from it we have become soft and impure. Looking through the history of the Church, this and other promised that Jesus made to his disciples and through them to the Church, we should recognize how good we have it as we see Jesus' words fulfilled all around us.

Tapping Out Sin
If battling sin was like two mixed martial artists fighting in the octagon for everyone to see, then far too often we would find ourselves flat on the mat, tapping out to certain sins that have plagued us all our life. How is it that trying harder like praying more intensely and reading the Bible doesn't guarantee victory over sin? In his message Teaching Pastor Yancey Arrington will look at how we can actually find more wins than losses over that toughest of opponents...how we can truly tap out sin!
