In Defense of Ingrates
Defending the Ungrateful Nine. Warning to the Ungrateful. Gratitude tends to wear off. Gratitude tends to want more. Gratitude too easily focuses on the gift rather than the giver. Gratitude can be hard work.

I Can Give Thanks
What are you thankful for? Our thankfulness as Christians is not tied to a particular day or season, but should be a constant attitude. We must be passionate about giving thanks. Are you as passionate in your thanksgiving as you are in calling on God during trials? Jesus notices our lack of gratitude. Do you stop and thank God for what He's doing for you or just let it slide by? The life change through Jesus should motivate our gratitude. What was old has been made new. It isn't about just coming to church, and feeling good about that. It's about living a new life and being thankful for God's love.

Gratitude Matters
Ephesians 5:15-21; Psalm 73 There are many definitions of worship, and there are many elements that go into worship. Today we focus on just one: gratitude. Paul calls us to the giving of thanks 24 times in his writings and always describes it as the constant attitude that must surround us at all times, in all situations. Without gratitude, our every act of worship is seen as hypocrisy, and our greatest acts of service as mere man pleasing. Gratitude matters!

Staying On The Mountain
An Attitude of Gratitude, part 2 Staying on the Mountain Philippians 3:1-11 Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you. Philippians 3:1 Three Guardrails to Keep You on the Mountain of Joy 1. RESIST legalistic attitudes (attitude determines altitude) Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh. For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh. Philippians 3:2-3 Guardrail: LIVE EACH DAY BY GRACE For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 2. REEVALUATE your priorities But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ . . . Philippians 3:7-8 Guardrail: KEEP YOUR PRIORITIES IN PERSPECTIVE "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." Luke 12:15 3. REFOCUS your ambitions I want to KNOW Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death . . . Philippians 3:10 For my determined purpose is that I may KNOW Him that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly . . . (amplified version) 3 Ways to Grow in Knowing Christ (the 3 “T’sâ€) 1. 2. 3.
