Sermons About Greed
Unstoppable Pt. 7 - For the Love of Money
Jesus taught that how we view and steward our money directly impacts our relationship with God. And prospering ourselves at the expense of others is a true indication of the heart. Nehemiah teaches us a powerful lesson in godly business principles, fair profit, and stewardship of all that God entrusts to us.

Justice and Generosity for the City
Injustice and oppression in the covenant community dishonors God. Christ's ministry on our behalf frees us not only from guilt but the bondage of sin, particularly greed. He works in us that we might fear God and therefore become both just and generous. He works through us to free others from bondage through the gospel.

Guard Against Greed
"We are doing this series because we want to make sure we don’t become a people who love the church and like Jesus. Through this series it’s my hope that you’ll fall in love with Jesus like never before..." "There’s this myth floating around in Christianland about what spiritual maturity is. Some people seem to think ‘really being fed’ is about someone rooting out the most obscure observations from the bible. They think that’s what mature believers do, they master the obscurities. I don’t see Jesus teaching that way. Jesus was the master of taking the complex and making it simple." (Mark Connelly, Lead Pastor)

Putting Greed To Death
Today's culture tends to be obsessed with material and monetrary posessions. This is manifest in a "never enough" attitude in that no matter how much we have, we never seem to have enough. In biblical terms, this is known as greed, which can be defined as having the desire for more or not being satisfied with what you have. In Luke 12:1-12, Jesus uses the Parable of the Rich Fool to teach His disciples the foolishness of greed. This parable teaches us that greed is a very deadly sin and people have lost their souls over greed. Although riches can be a source of sin and evil, riches can be okay as long as we trust in God instead of our wealth. Verses 22-24 teach us the solution to greed: 1) be rich in faith and 2) be rich in good deeds. It follows that we should pursue godliness as our greatest treasure and always keep in mind that we are merely passing through this world. We can also learn to be content with the basic necessities of life and fear the deceptive nature and destructive results of greed. In summary, to overcome greed in your life, become greedy for God!

Remember to Live
The people of Israel were about to move out of the desert and into a land that lacked nothing, according to the Moses. The only thing that could spoil it all for them was if they forgot the Lord in the process. Things are the same today as they were then. No matter what we possess or what our surroundings look like, life is pretty empty without the presence of God in the midst of it all. It's easy to forget the Lord when our hearts and minds are captured by our wealth. Listen as we look at one way we can help ensure that we remember the Lord and in so doing, remember to truly live.
