Enemies of the Kingdom
GREED DISTRACTS US FROM PURSUING A LIFE OF MEANING IN THE KINGDOM. WORRY DISSIPATES OUR ENERGY FOR PURSUING A LIFE OF MEANING IN THE KINGDOM. GREED & WORRY DIVULGE THE PURSUIT OF LIFE ACCORDING TO THE PATTERN AND PRIORITIES OF THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD, NOT THE KINGDOM OF THE HEAVENS. GREED & WORRY REFLECT AN ATTEMPT TO DIRECT OUR OWN LIVES RATHER THAN DEPEND ON GOD. THE GOOD NEWS OF THE KINGDOM IS THAT WE CAN BE DELIVERED FROM GREED & WORRY TO A LIFE OF GENEROSITY AND FAITH BECAUSE OF WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED FROM OUR FATHER.

This is one of the most "in your face" scriptures in the New Testament about the consequences of wrong priorities.
