Sermons About Guidance
Walking in God's Will
Before you examine the methods God uses to speak to man to reveal His will, you must have some basic knowledge about the will of God. This session presents basic facts about the will of God, explains two major divisions of that will, examines the pattern of God's will, and discusses the believer's development in knowing the voice of God.

Heading the Wrong Direction
It is just as important to know how not to do something as it is to know how to do it. In the Bible God warns of ways you should NOT seek guidance for your life. If you heed these warnings, you will not waste time with non-Biblical methods of guidance of which God does not approve. This will prevent you from making bad decisions and heading the wrong direction in life.

We Study Because We Love Jesus
People who love Jesus love the Church because 'she' is His body. As we all know, churches (i.e., local congregations) are made up of imperfect people...so relationships are difficult. Yet we are called to be at peace with one another. That command (it is not a suggestion but a command) raises a slew of questions. One question is, "How can someone be at peace with others if they are not at peace within their own person?"

Guidance in Community
In a culture that worships individualism, most desire community but few experience it. For those who find community, what should be rich and meaningful often ends up thin and dissatisfying. What if community is not just something we're looking for but something we're destined for? And what if this community is deeper, richer, and grander than anything we've known? Join us as we explore these questions in our new series, "Sharing Life."

Sovereignty and guidance
Guidance is a regular topic amongst Christians – we want to know how & where God is urging us, moving us and directing us. And its not surprising that we want direction – cos life is full of decisions. Yet every decision has its repercussions – some we can see; others are quite unexpected. Every decision has consequences. Take some of the big ones: who we marry, what job we take. They affect many, many things. Because we aren’t God, we don’t know how it will work out. And we are not in complete control of the outcome. Making such decisions is hard. How then can we get help from God. How do we find out his will? The Good News is that God has great plans and that he is Sovereign in the world - he knows all things, and he rules over all things. God gives us general principles to live by – and within those we are free to choose. The Bible says very little about “personal guidance”. Here are some big principles: 1. God, as Sovereign in the world, uses everything to guide is in right paths 2. God speaks to us through Christ – this is the high point of all he has to say. Heb 1:1ff 3. God speaks to us today by his Son through the Holy Spirit in the Scriptures. God’s guidance is not like a detailed map – more like a compass. We are not given every detail for every decision. God gives us the general directions and we make good judgements and wise decisions. The compass is the Bible.
